Prep 5 minutes · Cook 2 minutes · Total 7 minutes · Yield 1 person

Set out oz Milk or milk alternative of choice, Confectioner’s sugar, and Cocoa Powder before you start Hot Cocoa Mix for the Home Table. The batch is written for 1 person.
Count on 5 minutes of prep, 2 minutes of cooking, about 7 minutes from the first measurement to the plate.
What goes in the bowl
- 8 oz Milk or milk alternative of choice
- 1 tablespoon Confectioner’s sugar
- 4 teaspoons Cocoa Powder
- 1 pinch Kosher salt
- ½ oz Semi-sweet chocolate this is one square of a baking bar
How the cooking goes
- Place all the ingredients in a mug. Microwave on high 1 minute. Whisk gently to begin incorporating all the ingredients into the milk. They won’t completely combine at this point and that is okay!
- Microwave an additional minute on high then whisk to combine. At this point the chocolate should be melted and the cocoa should be completely mixed but perhaps not as hot as you’d like. Continue heating in 30 second intervals until it is as hot as you’d like!
- Put marshmallows. This is not optional. The only option here is how many you will add. This kitchen is a 4-6 marshmallows kind-of-girl.
After it comes off the heat
Give the plate the rest the method asks for. Cover leftovers and refrigerate them when the dish includes meat, eggs, or dairy.
