Count on 10 minutes of prep, 15 minutes of cooking, about 25 minutes from the first measurement to the plate.
What goes in the bowl
- ½ Package Kataifi cold
- 2 tablespoons Butter melted
- 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar more if desired
How the cooking goes
- Heat the oven to 350°F.
- Working carefully to try and preserve the long strains of kataifi, gently place some in each cup of a standard muffin tin. The kataifi This kitchen is used to has very long strands that you can wrap in the cup to create wound nest, but this kataifi was all short strands, so you ended up having to press it into a nest shape.
- Brush the tops with a bit of the melted butter. It doesn’t take much and if you use too much then your nests will be greasy and not get crispy.
- Dust with powdered sugar.
- Bake in preheated oven until the tops are a nice deep gold and the feel crispy towards the bottom. You’ll have to poke your finger in the nest. There really is no other way to tell.
- Cool then then serve!
After it comes off the heat
Give the plate the rest the method asks for. Cover leftovers and refrigerate them when the dish includes meat, eggs, or dairy.
