Ingredients Method

What goes in the bowl

  • 12 eggs
  • 1 qt Cold water to cover eggs
  • 2 tbsp Distilled white vinegar approximately 2 Tablespoons for each quart of water
  • Ice

How the cooking goes

  1. Put the eggs in a pot, create a single layer on the bottom.
  2. Fill the pot up with cold water just until it covers the eggs.
  3. Tip in around 2 tablespoons of distilled white vinegar (this will make the eggs easy to peel, won’t make the eggs taste like vinegar).
  4. Bring water to a boil on high heat.
  5. As soon as you have a consistent boil, set a timer for 10 minutes (no more!).
  6. Gather some ice in a big bowl (no need to add water yet).
  7. Use a slotted spoon to gentle take the eggs out of the pot, then put them in the bowl of ice. You want the eggs to be encapsulated in the ice water so they cool down quickly.
  8. Let them cool (about 15 minutes), and peel! Or peel them warm! They are actually easier to peel.
